Dedicated circuit
Each charger gets its own circuit from the panel. Typical chargers: 7 kW (32 A single-phase) and 22 kW (32 A three-phase). The cable for 32 A copper is 6 mm², for 22 kW three-phase — 6 mm² (3 phases).
Cable cross-section
Per IEC 60364-5-52, choose the cross-section by current and voltage drop. For 32 A over 30 m, voltage drop is about 1.5% — acceptable; over 50 m, increase to 10 mm².
RCD Type B or AC+DC detection
EV chargers can produce DC leakage currents that blind Type AC RCDs. Use Type B RCD (or Type A + 6 mA DC detection per IEC 62955).
Load management
With several chargers, a load management system balances power so the house connection is not overloaded. GorkyCAD counts the total and distributes by priority.
Metering and tariffs
Separate metering for the charger allows a favorable EV tariff. The design includes a metering node on the charger circuit.
Why it matters
A wrong circuit means: tripping chargers, burned contacts, or a fire. The design is 1 hour in GorkyCAD — and the installation is done once and safely.
