How it works
Energy = power × time: kWh per day = P(W) × hours/1000. Cost = energy × tariff. For a year: day × 365 or month × 12.

How much does an hour of AC cost?
At 1 kW and $0.15/kWh: ≈ $0.15 per hour, ≈ $1 per day for 5–6 hours of operation.
How much does a refrigerator use?
A modern A+ fridge uses 100–150 kWh/year; an old one up to 400 kWh. That's 15–30% of the bill.
Boiler or instant water heater?
Boiler: 2 kW × 3 h = 6 kWh/day. Instant 3.5 kW × 1.5 h = 5.25 kWh/day. The boiler also allows using a night tariff.
What is average household consumption?
1-bedroom apartment: 150–250 kWh/month; 3-bedroom with electric stove: 300–500 kWh/month.
