How to design apartment electrical yourself — GorkyCAD Pro Blog

An apartment electrical project can be done yourself — no AutoCAD, no designer. Here is how to get a ready PDF set in one evening.

1. Wall and room plan

Start with the plan: draw walls, doors and windows in the editor. If you have a BTI plan — import DXF and trace walls over it.

2. Outlet and switch placement

Outlets at 300 mm, switches at 900 mm, lights on the ceiling. Just click on walls — objects snap automatically.

3. Panel and groups

Auto panel assembly picks breakers, RCDs and busbars for your groups. Check and adjust ratings if needed.

4. Calculations and checks

GorkyCAD Pro calculates load, cable cross-section and voltage drop per PUE. The norm check highlights errors before export.

5. PDF export

One click gives you the full set: layout plan, single-line diagram, specification and cable schedule — ready for approval.
