Why calculate

  • The breaker must break the SC current (Icu ≥ Isc);
  • The cable must withstand heating until disconnection;
  • Voltage drop during fault determines the breaker's operation speed.

FAQ

What happens without calculation?
The breaker cannot break the fault — the contacts weld, the arc burns the panel, fire.
Who calculates Isc?
The network organization gives the SC power at the input; the designer calculates it along the lines. GorkyCAD does this automatically.
