Demand Factor

Demand factor — the ratio of simultaneously used power to the installed one. Not all devices work at once — the panel would be oversized.

📐 Floor Plan & Rooms

🧱

Walls & Partitions

Load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls, partitions, thickness and material settings.

🚪

Doors & Windows

Door and window placement, size configuration, opening direction.

📏

Dimensions & Annotations

Automatic dimensions, callouts, text annotations on the plan.

📦

DXF Import

Import floor plans from AutoCAD and other CAD systems via DXF.

Why it is used

  • The oven, washer and kettle do not work at the same time;
  • The cable and breaker are selected by the calculated current, not the sum;
  • For an apartment the demand factor is 0.6-0.8, for the office — 0.7-0.9, for industry — by process.

Example

Installed 15 kW, demand factor 0.7 → calculated 10.5 kW → at 230 V: I ≈ 46 A → input breaker C50, not C63.

FAQ

Where are the values from?
From SP 31-110-2003 / IEC standards by consumer type — the designer uses tables.
Does GorkyCAD apply it?
Yes — automatically by room and consumer type; you can override it.
