Panel Design — Layout and Selection Guide

Panel types

Apartment: 12-24 modules, surface or recessed. House: 24-54 modules, separate rows for power and automation. Office: 36+ with a low-current section.

Module calculation

MCB 1P = 1 module, 3P = 3; RCD 2P = 2, RCBO = 2-4; meter = 4-8. Add 20-30% reserve. Example: apartment 8 groups → 8 MCB + 4 RCD + meter ≈ 24 modules.

DIN rail layout

Input → meter → fire RCD → RCD/RCBO groups → MCB. Order on the rail = order of disconnection. GorkyCAD assembles the rail automatically.

Phase balance

Distribute single-phase groups evenly across phases: 8 groups → 3/3/2. Imbalance above 15% overheats the neutral.

Labeling

Every breaker — a label with the group: «Kitchen sockets», «Bathroom». The panel passport with QR is generated in the documentation set.

Common mistakes

No reserve modules; RCD for the whole panel; no labeling; no scheme inside the door — all checked by GorkyCAD.
