Outdoor Lighting — Design

Integrating pulse-output meters into your design. Connection diagrams, CT selection, AMR system based on GorkyCAD.

Author: GorkyCAD Team

Zones

Yard and paths — light points with sensors; facade — accent lighting; entrance — motion light; security perimeter — bright lighting with cameras.

Luminaire selection

IP65 for open rain; IP44 under the roof. LED 10-30 W for the yard, floodlights 30-100 W for the facade. 4000 K for the yard, 3000 K for the facade.

Circuits

Separate circuit from the panel with RCD 30 mA; outdoor sockets — IP44 with covers. Cable — armored or in pipes, depth 0.7 m.

Sensors

Motion sensors: range 8-12 m, angle 100-180°, twilight sensor for automatic switching at dusk. The sensor rating or contactor for powerful lights.

Lighting calculation

Yard paths — 10-20 lx; facade — accent with 3000 K; security — 50-100 lx on the perimeter. GorkyCAD places and counts the luminaires.

Why design

Outdoor mistakes are expensive: wrong IP, no sensor, unarmed cable. The design fixes the layout before the yard is finished.
