Scenes first
Design by scenes, not by switches: «Movie», «Dinner», «Morning». Each scene = set of groups and dimming levels. The design shows the group structure.
DALI or KNX?
DALI — simpler and cheaper, for lighting only. KNX — full automation (light, climate, blinds). For an apartment: DALI or smart relays; for a house: KNX.
Sensors
Motion sensors in corridors and bathrooms, daylight sensors in offices. The design shows the coverage zones.
Dimming wiring
Dimmable circuits require: DALI — 2 extra bus wires + power; smart — neutral at every switch. Check the driver compatibility.
Fallback
Every scene has a fallback: the switch works as a classic one if the controller fails. The design provides classic circuits in parallel.
Why design
The cost of «smart» mistakes is high: no neutral, no bus route, incompatible drivers. The design fixes everything before installation.
