Electrical Testing — What Is Measured

Integrating pulse-output meters into your design. Connection diagrams, CT selection, AMR system based on GorkyCAD.

Insulation resistance

Measured with a megohmmeter at 500/1000 V between L-N, L-PE, N-PE. Norm: ≥ 0.5 MΩ (new wiring usually shows 100+ MΩ).

RCD test

The RCD must trip: at the rated current — within 0.3 s, at 5×Idn — instantly. Tested with a special device or the «T» button + measurement.

Grounding

PE continuity — every socket: resistance ≤ 0.1 Ω for the loop; ground loop resistance ≤ 4 Ω (TN) / ≤ 30 Ω (TT).

Phase/neutral check

Polarity and absence of voltage on PE — checked by load and phase rotation.

The protocol

Name, dates, devices, measured values, conclusion. Signed by the contractor and the customer — part of the acceptance documents.

How GorkyCAD helps

The protocol template and the list of lines to test are generated from the model — the electrician fills in the numbers.
