Electrical Safety in Renovation — 12 Rules

Integrating pulse-output meters into your design. Connection diagrams, CT selection, AMR system based on GorkyCAD.

Author: GorkyCAD Team

Rule 1-3

1. Turn off the group before work — do not rely on «it was off». 2. Check absence of voltage with an indicator. 3. Work in dry clothes and dry hands.

Rule 4-6

4. Do not lay new cables in one channel with live ones. 5. Protect the wiring during finishing — cover the boxes. 6. Do not damage existing cables when chasing.

Rule 7-9

7. Grounding — 3 wires everywhere, check with a multimeter. 8. RCD 30 mA — mandatory for the renovation period. 9. Do not connect sockets without a box.

Rule 10-12

10. Keep water away from the panel and sockets. 11. After the work — test insulation resistance before switching on. 12. Do not accept the work without a test report.

Why rules matter

During renovation, risks are 3-5 times higher: open wires, wet walls, unfamiliar circuits. A simple scheme of the apartment helps you know what is where.

The scheme is the base

GorkyCAD draws the plan, marks the circuits and generates a scheme — hang it in the panel so everyone knows where to switch off.
